About Guldtid Guldtid offers personal companionship and social support to people who want more community and better opportunities to do things that are important or meaningful to them. Our customers can include, for example, elderly people or people living with a disability or the effects of illness. We complement public care and health services. We do not provide the same services as, for example, home care services. Our companions are called Gold Friends. Each customer is matched with a Gold Friend based on needs, personality, interests, language, and availability. The goal is to create a safe and long-term relationship. About the work as a Gold Friend We are seeking people in the Stockholm area who want to become part of Guldtid's Gold Friend database and later be matched with one or more customers. As a Gold Friend, you will meet the same customer regularly, typically on a fixed day and time. The content of the meetings is adapted to the customer's wishes, needs, and circumstances. Customers have different needs. For example, they may include: an elderly person who wants conversation, companionship, and someone to share their interests with, a person who needs companionship to get out of their care facility, a person who, after illness or due to a disability, needs support to meet friends or participate in activities and community life, a person with dementia who needs calm, security, and social presence. Meetings can include: conversation and social community, walks and outings, café and restaurant visits, reading aloud, music, games, or other interests, support to maintain contact with friends and family, companionship during errands and activities, community and communication beyond words, for example through music, reading aloud, or calm presence. The work requires that you can adapt to the customer's daily mood and let the customer's needs guide the meeting. We are looking for you if You enjoy meeting people and have great empathy. You can create security through calm, presence, and respect. You are also comfortable when a meeting is not based on regular conversation, but primarily involves being present and creating a safe and meaningful moment. You can work independently and take responsibility for meetings being conducted in a safe and professional manner. General Requirements You are willing and able to meet the same customer over a longer period of time. You can dedicate the same day and time on a regular basis. You are secure, attentive, reliable, and responsible. You respect the customer's self-determination and integrity. You speak and understand Swedish well. For certain customers, there may also be special requirements regarding, for example, language, experience, education, driver's license, or access to a car. Meritorious Experience working with elderly people. Experience with dementia. Experience with mental health issues. Experience working with people with disabilities. Nursing assistant training or other relevant training. Knowledge of languages other than Swedish. Scope of Work Once you have completed the recruitment process and been approved, you will become part of Guldtid's Gold Friend database. After that, you can be matched with one or more customers. The number of working hours depends on the customers' needs and which customers you are matched with. Guldtid therefore cannot guarantee a specific employment level or a specific number of hours. The work is best suited as extra work or part-time employment. It can advantageously be combined with, for example, studies, another part-time job, pension, or other flexible employment. Once you have been matched with a customer, you need to have the capacity and intention to meet the customer on a regular basis over a longer period of time. The requirement for long-term commitment is important for the customer's security and continuity. This does not mean that Guldtid guarantees work for a certain period. There may later be an opportunity to be matched with additional customers if your availability suits their needs.
