Our Operations The Emergency Medical Services and Acute Care operations area consists of two sections: ambulance services and acute care. Together, we are approximately 500 employees working to provide high-quality and accessible care around the clock. The Ambulance Services Section is responsible for the region's ambulance operations with stations in Enköping/Bålsta, Uppsala/Huddinge/Knivsta, Tierp/Skutskär, and Östhammar. The operations provide ambulance services for Region Uppsala's approximately 385,000 residents. The section also includes the Emergency Medical Dispatch Center. The Acute Care Section includes Akademiska Hospital's emergency department, which is a Level 1 trauma center with regional and national responsibilities. The operations conduct extensive research, education, and supervision of students and healthcare personnel. Ongoing development work is underway to strengthen and further develop specialist-driven acute care. Your Assignment As Assistant Operations Director, you play a central role in leading and developing the operations area together with the Operations Director. You contribute to creating favorable conditions for managers and employees to achieve the operations' goals and provide care with high quality, patient safety, and efficiency. You report directly to the Operations Director and are part of the operations area's management team. Your responsibilities include: • taking responsibility for parts of operational management and daily management • leading and supporting subordinate managers and employees • participating in the operations' planning, follow-up, and development • having responsibility for finances, production, and operational results within assigned areas • strengthening collaboration with internal and external partners at local, regional, and national levels You are expected to contribute to the operations area's long-term development through clear, present, and development-oriented leadership. Your Qualifications We are looking for someone with documented management experience and relevant higher education within healthcare. You have: • experience leading change and development work • good understanding of governance and decision-making processes in politically governed operations • experience with collaboration across organizational and administrative boundaries • strong communication skills and inclusive leadership • ability to create engagement, participation, and results It is a merit if you have: • knowledge of emergency dispatch centers, ambulance services, and/or acute care • experience with regional collaboration with other regions, authorities, and societal actors • completed Region Uppsala's management program or equivalent leadership training • experience with research, education, or development work within healthcare Great weight will be placed on personal suitability.
