Job Description The person we are seeking will conduct research and contribute to the continued development of the research environment within molecular biology, plant physiology, ecology, environmental science, geoscience, or educational science within these fields. The duties include developing teaching competencies that encompass instruction at both undergraduate and advanced levels, as well as supervision of doctoral students and postdoctoral researchers. The employee is expected to actively seek external funding for their research activities. The position is limited to 6 years, consisting of 75% independent research and 25% teaching. The position is tenure-track, which makes it possible to develop and establish long-term research. An assistant professor has the right to, upon request, be considered for promotion to associate professor. Read about the research conducted at the faculty's departments: Departments' and center formations' research Qualification Requirements To be eligible for employment as an assistant professor, one must hold a doctoral degree or have equivalent scientific competence. Preference will be given to candidates who have obtained their doctorate or achieved equivalent competence at most seven years before the application deadline for the assistant professor position. However, candidates who obtained their doctorate or achieved equivalent competence earlier may also be considered if there are special circumstances. Special circumstances include leave due to illness, parental leave, or other similar conditions. The doctorate or equivalent scientific competence must be in molecular biology, plant physiology, ecology, environmental science, geoscience, or educational science within these fields, and of relevance to the receiving department at the faculty. Strong proficiency in English is required, both spoken and written. Evaluation Criteria The degree of scientific competence required for eligibility for employment shall serve as the evaluation criteria for the appointment of an assistant professor. Furthermore, the degree of pedagogical competence and other competencies relevant to the subject matter of the position and the work tasks involved shall be considered. Furthermore, the degree of pedagogical competence and other competencies relevant to the subject matter of the position and the work tasks involved shall be considered. The ability to develop and lead operations and personnel at the university, as well as the ability to collaborate and cooperate with the surrounding society and communicate research and development work will be taken into account.
