Field Description Electric Power Engineering encompasses studies of sustainable systems for electricity generation and transmission of electrical energy, as well as the interaction between power grids, electricity generation, and electricity consumption. Responsibilities As an Assistant Professor, you will conduct research within a subfield of electric power engineering (to be determined by you in consultation with the subject representative), contribute to education at both undergraduate and advanced levels in electric power engineering and related fields, supervise doctoral students, and initiate and carry out externally funded research projects in electric power engineering. As an Assistant Professor, you will strengthen the group and broaden the research activities as well as teach students. Possible research areas include: Protective relays and protection coordination Grounding and stray currents Industrial networks including railway power supply Qualifications To meet the requirements for employment as an Assistant Professor, the applicant must have completed a doctorate, or hold a foreign degree assessed as equivalent to a doctorate Preference will be given to candidates who completed their doctorate no more than five years before the application deadline. However, candidates who completed their doctorate or achieved equivalent competence earlier may also be considered if there are special circumstances. Special circumstances include leave due to illness, parental leave, or other similar circumstances. Evaluation Criteria The following evaluation criteria apply to this position: * Scientific proficiency * Other evaluation criteria, weighted equally experience in planning and conducting electric power engineering measurements in both laboratory and field environments ability to collaborate with the surrounding society, particularly companies and organizations in the electric power engineering field ability to inform other researchers and the surrounding society about research and development work teaching merits in the form of completed pedagogical training and teaching experience, as well as ability to teach in Swedish good knowledge of English and Swedish low voltage authorization, AL administrative proficiency relevant to the subject content and the work tasks included in the position Employment Period This position is offered for a period of four years. Evaluation for Promotion to University Lecturer The purpose of the employment is to give the instructor the opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher and to gain merits both scientifically and pedagogically to meet the requirements for employment as a University Lecturer. An Assistant Professor shall, upon application, be promoted to University Lecturer with a permanent position if they are qualified for such a position and, upon evaluation, are deemed suitable for such a position according to the evaluation criteria stated below. Promotion requires that the Assistant Professor has completed higher education pedagogical training equivalent to 7.5 credits or has otherwise acquired equivalent knowledge. During the employment period, the Assistant Professor must also independently and to a considerable extent and with high quality contribute to the university's research and demonstrate good pedagogical proficiency.
