The Cybersecurity Division (CYBER) at the Department of Computer and Information Science conducts research and provides undergraduate and graduate education in cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, network technology, communication systems, and reliability. Research efforts focus particularly on the intersection of cybersecurity and AI, as well as security for critical infrastructure. More information about cybersecurity research and education at Linköping University can be found here: https://liu.se/forskning/cybersakerhet As an Assistant Professor in Computer Science with a focus on cybersecurity, you will teach at both undergraduate and advanced levels, in both Swedish and English, and supervise students in the department's subject areas. Your work includes course development, course responsibility, and participation in educational administrative tasks related to cybersecurity. You conduct research in cybersecurity, with particular focus on topics such as security in critical infrastructure, AI for cybersecurity, cybersecurity for AI, or related areas relevant to the division's research profile. Research is conducted primarily in English. You are active in the research community, participate in the division's activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding. You actively contribute to the university's development work. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and education mission. Collaboration in education takes place through planning, organizing, and delivering quality education in dialogue with actors from the surrounding society. Collaboration in research takes place through disseminating, making accessible, and utilizing research. The position may also involve administrative duties, such as serving as a study director or working with educational committees. We would also like to see you participate in and show interest in leadership roles. Your work includes keeping up with developments nationally and internationally in your subject area and societal developments that are relevant to your work. Your qualifications We are looking for you who have a PhD or equivalent scientific competence. We are primarily looking for someone who completed their PhD within the past seven years. For this position, primary weight will be placed on scientific skills, secondary weight on pedagogical skills, and tertiary weight on other skills that are deemed equivalent to each other. Regarding scientific skills, the following will be evaluated: Requirements for the position are: documented scientific skills in cybersecurity or related fields. ability to independently conduct high-quality research. Particularly meritorious are: experience in cybersecurity research related to AI and/or critical infrastructure. breadth and depth in research as well as its originality and independence, documented through publications in leading journals and at established conferences in the field. ability to formulate applications and attract external research funding. experience in national and international research collaboration and participation in the research community, for example through peer review assignments. Within computer science and cybersecurity, it is noted that publication at leading, peer-reviewed conferences carries equal weight as journal publications. Regarding pedagogical skills, the following will be evaluated: Requirements for the position are: ability to plan, conduct, and evaluate teaching at undergraduate and/or advanced level in computer science or cybersecurity. Particularly meritorious are: ability to have a reflective, student-centered approach to student learning and to your own teaching role. ability to develop and renew the content, forms, and assessments of teaching. commitment to pedagogical development work and ability to collaborate on teaching with the surrounding society and colleagues. Regarding other skills, the following will be evaluated: Meritorious are: documented skills in collaboration within education and research. good knowledge of Swedish. administrative skills related to educational activities. good collaboration ability and demonstrated independence and initiative. Since teaching and/or research takes place in both Swedish and English, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach and/or conduct research in English, and it is desirable that within two years you can teach and/or conduct research in Swedish. About the position This position is a full-time appointment for 5 years. Start date by agreement. A security clearance may be conducted before the employment decision is made.
