Welcome to apply for the position of assistant principal in Ljusdal! Work Tasks As assistant principal, you are part of a management team consisting of the principal and assistant principal. You have operational and personnel responsibility for your area of operations. Together with the school's lead teachers, school leaders drive development work, and in consultation with team leaders, organizational matters are handled. Results and quality work are driven through continuous dialogue with staff. In your role as pedagogical leader, you actively work with the school's values and set goals. You both support and challenge educators in their work to promote teaching quality and student development. Together with the principal: • you lead conferences and development meetings with teachers • you manage the school's contacts with the education authority, government agencies, other schools, businesses, and other institutions • you drive systematic work for the school's various departments You are the principal's collaboration partner on matters concerning the Swedish school system and governing documents. The position includes management, development, follow-up, and collaboration responsibilities. You will, to a large extent, work operatively close to daily operations and collaborate with guardians on student health matters. Follow-up and development work constitute a significant part of your tasks, and you are expected to actively drive development forward in the areas of pedagogy, work environment, and systematic quality work. Qualifications We are looking for you with a pedagogical university degree. Your knowledge of primary school and afterschool programs is solid, and you are well familiar with the governing documents, laws, and agreements that regulate the operations. Furthermore, you have knowledge of children's reading and writing development and student health processes. It is meritorious if you have: • experience in pedagogical leadership with personnel and budget responsibility • experience from primary school's lower grades, F-6, and afterschool programs • experience driving collaboration projects with external actors • experience with the school's systematic quality work • experience with systems used in Ljusdal Municipality such as Medvind, Power-Bi, and Stratsys • further education in leadership such as principal training • knowledge or experience in work environment and labor law • special education competence is of great importance You are a good organizer and solution-oriented. Your leadership is characterized by clarity, courage, respect, and stability, and you communicate in a safe and secure way with students, staff, and guardians so that everyone understands. You have the ability to inspire, anchor, and lead ongoing development work together with colleagues. You systematically gather information for analysis and development of operations, for example surveys about school safety and academic work. Good IT skills and good knowledge of Swedish in speech and writing are therefore a requirement for the position. You are not afraid to be where needed for the greater good. To succeed in this assignment, your pedagogical leadership and personal suitability are very important, and we will place great emphasis on them in this recruitment.
