We are seeking an Assistant Principal for the upper secondary level at Runby School in Upplands Väsby Municipality. About Us Runby School with the resource school Sjumila and Ekebo adapted primary school is the municipality's largest school unit. Here there are approximately 1,200 students distributed across grades f-9, and just under 200 employees. In the upper secondary section, there are approximately 400 students and 30 employees work there. Parallel to the ongoing and vibrant activities at the municipality's largest school, planning of the new Runby is underway. New Runby is developing as the current large school unit will eventually become two schools located reasonably close to each other. About the Position As Assistant Principal at Runby School, you will be part of the school's leadership team, which consists of a Principal, four Assistant Principals, and an Administrative Director. Together you will lead and develop the operations with student learning and the school's results in focus. The municipal school organization has three prioritized focus areas: - Learning for Sustainable Development - Improved School Results - Language and Knowledge Development Work Methods Together with others in school leadership, you are responsible for driving work within these areas forward. Development work takes place in close collaboration with the school's employees and with support from the Education Office. An important part of the assignment is to continue developing the school's student health work. Student health should be an integrated part of the school's core mission and contribute to creating good and sustainable conditions for students' learning, development, and goal achievement. Work methods and measures are followed up and developed continuously based on the needs of the operations and students. We are therefore looking for someone who has experience successfully developing student health work and building a school culture where student health, instruction, and school development work together to strengthen students' conditions for success. A background check will be conducted prior to employment. Are You the One We're Looking For? We are seeking someone who has: - Initiated or completed principal training - Teacher education with appropriate specialization for the position - Experience as an Assistant Principal at the upper secondary level - Familiarity and knowledge of school legislation, confidentiality legislation, and the central mission of student health - Knowledge of occupational health and safety legislation It is an asset if you have: - Well-developed pedagogical leadership where you challenge, affirm, and lead the development of core content - Experience leading school development toward consistently better school results - Understanding of and experience with systematic quality work in general and specifically regarding student knowledge development - Experience and interest in organizing well-functioning student health with focus on both promoting, preventative, and remedial work - Good familiarity with and experience in formalized collaboration with trade union organizations As a person, you are courageous, creative, and solution-oriented, enjoy thinking in new ways and finding paths forward in both new and familiar challenges. At the same time, you work in a structured and systematic manner, with clear processes where employee participation is a natural part. You are a secure and action-oriented leader who has the ability to make well-founded decisions, create structure in complex situations, and provide active support to employees in their respective assignments. You enjoy collaborating and are accustomed to working together with others at various levels in the organization. You plan and prioritize your work well, drive issues forward, and ensure that tasks are completed within given timeframes. In your work, you maintain focus on the school's core mission and on developing instruction to create good conditions for students' learning and improved school results.
