The school has approximately 350 students from grades 4 through 9. The school also has a specialized instruction group level 2. We are located in the center of Lövgärdets, near the nature area Vättlefjäll which invites outdoor activities and opportunities to use nature in teaching. Together with Tretjärnsskolan F–3, the adapted primary school, and Rävebergsskolan F-3, we form the school area Nordost 15. The schools are led by a school leadership team consisting of one principal and a total of four assistant principals. Two assistant principals work at Lövgärdesskolan. Job Responsibilities The work of an Assistant Principal involves exercising leadership close to students and staff and actively working in the school leadership team. The Assistant Principal focuses on the school's core processes and works daily to make a difference for students. In this role, you have financial, personnel, and operational responsibility. This means you lead and distribute work for your team, conduct regular staff meetings, and act as a salary-setting manager. The role is highly executive and operational under delegated responsibility in a team with your nearest colleague and the principal. The role also includes formal delegated responsibility for the work environment to drive and develop systematic occupational health and safety work at the school. The goal is a well-functioning management group for the entire school grades 4-9 with one principal and two assistant principals. In this assignment, you have access to support from the administration in areas such as administration, finances, HR, quality and development work, digitalization, analysis, and legal matters. As someone new to the city or a new assignment, there is also the opportunity to have a mentor. Qualifications We are looking for someone with: A university degree of at least 180 hp where pedagogy was part of the education 4 years of experience working in schools previous leadership experience knowledge of laws/regulations and other governing documents at the national level for all school and activity forms within primary education Meritorious for the position: completed principal training and/or leadership development program/training or preparatory management training school leadership experience or other management experience experience with laws/regulations and collective agreements that affect employer responsibility experience in financial management and resource allocation experience working in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas and collaboration with external actors in this context As a person, you are engaged with the ability to inspire your colleagues. You are confident and clear in your leadership and have the ability to prioritize tasks to reach long-term goals. By being a clear and good communicator, you gain support for your ideas and can influence decisions in a certain direction. You are skilled at building trusting relationships with both students, colleagues, and parents. You have the ability to handle criticism of change in a constructive way, and it is important to you to actively seek the perspectives and opinions of others and be receptive to them by showing respect, consideration, and care. Your structured work style results in you using time efficiently, and you work systematically, organizationally, and methodically. Moreover, you have the ability to analyze the current situation and can use your analysis to plan methodically ahead.
