Within the adult education operations area, approximately 120 employees work with study and career guidance, admissions and administration, Swedish for Immigrants (SFI), basic and upper secondary adult education, Lärvux, student support, parental Swedish, and society orientation. Adult education in Helsingborg is in the midst of many exciting local and national development processes. We believe adult education is one of our most important tools to reach the goal of more Helsingborg residents becoming self-supporting, and to ensure the right expertise reaches employers so they can grow. This means we need to find new forms of education and make education accessible to more groups. Responsibilities Komvux is growing and will consist of two principals and two assistant principals within the School Unit. We are now seeking an assistant principal who, together with one of the principals, will be responsible for basic and upper secondary subjects, Swedish and Swedish as a Second Language, SFI, parental Swedish, society orientation, student support, and several of our collaborations with the Education and Leisure Services administration. As assistant principal, you will be part of the leadership of Komvux Helsingborg. Together with principals and the assistant principal, you lead the operations in a goal-oriented, clear, and trust-based manner – always with the student in focus. In this role, you have responsibility for operations, finances, and personnel. You also have responsibility for the quality of education and are expected to work with staff to develop teaching and operations so that our students have good conditions to reach their goals. Qualifications We are looking for you who: are a certified teacher and well versed in the curriculum documents for adult education have experience with pedagogical work have experience with systematic quality work have leadership or management experience from pedagogical operations have good digital skills expresses yourself well in speech and writing in Swedish and English. You dare to try new working methods, learn from what doesn't go as planned, and have the courage to challenge both yourself and the operations. You are communicative and have a talent for creating and maintaining good relationships. You see the development of operations as a stimulating challenge and have the ability to turn ideas into concrete change. You are analytical and have the ability to see the operations' needs from a holistic perspective. You have a clear focus on quality and work long-term to create sustainable solutions. As a leader, you have a trust-based approach. You create space for dialogue, reflection, and learning and contribute through positive and inspiring interaction to participation and engagement. In development work, you are attentive to employees' ideas and suggestions and have the ability to utilize their expertise, experience, and commitment. You create conditions for employees to develop, both as a team and individually. It is an asset if you have completed or begun a principal training program.
