Your New Position We are looking for an assistant principal who wants to help lead and develop the Hovslätts school area together with us. As an assistant principal, you create favorable conditions for students' learning, development, and goal achievement through present and operationally close leadership. Together with the principal, the other assistant principal, and staff, you drive the school's development work with students' best interests in focus. Your duties include leading pedagogical work, developing student health services, taking responsibility for systematic quality work, and having personnel and workplace environment responsibilities. You also collaborate with guardians and external stakeholders to create the best possible conditions for students' development and well-being. As part of the school leadership, you contribute to the continued development of the school area and to creating a safe, inclusive, and learning organization. The Hovslätts school area encompasses two schools with approximately 550 students and 80 staff members. Hovslättsskolan is an F-6 school with around 430 students, while Grästorpsskolan is an F-3 school with approximately 120 students. Both schools are located in nature-rich environments just south of Jönköping's center. We cherish a positive work environment where staff members are given the opportunity to grow in their roles. Your Qualifications You are a certified teacher with experience leading development work that strengthens students' learning and goal achievement. You have a good understanding of the school's mission with a holistic perspective on the factors that contribute to children's and students' development. You have strong commitment to children and young people and want to help develop education within Jönköping Municipality. Your leadership is characterized by trust, clarity, and collaboration. You utilize staff members' expertise and create conditions for participation and shared responsibility. As a person, you are analytical, structured, and confident in making well-founded decisions even in complex situations. You are communicative, relationship-building, and solution-focused, with the ability to build trusting relationships and drive the organization's development toward set goals. It is meriting if you have completed or begun the state principal's training. If you have not yet taken the training, we view favorably an interest in completing it as part of your continued development as a school leader. Good to Know This position is a limited-term assignment as assistant principal for 3 years with a permanent employment as a teacher as the base. The assignment can, if conditions exist, transition into a permanent employment as assistant principal. This position has been assessed for work value and is found in base group I.
