The Education Administration is responsible for all activities within the municipality's preschools, primary schools, adapted primary school, after-school centers, gymnasium, and adult education.
Approximately 1300 students study at Arlanda Gymnasium. We offer 11 gymnasium programs, both college-preparatory and vocational programs. The school has one of few aviation technology programs in Sweden as well as national and local sports programs in handball, soccer, floorball, ice hockey, and e-sports.
Arlanda Gymnasium Unit 2 includes introduction programs adapted for students who lack the qualifications for a national program, as well as an adapted gymnasium, which is a four-year voluntary program for young people with intellectual disabilities.
Our annual evaluations show that students and staff are very satisfied at our school. Skilled teachers and the gymnasium's bright and airy facilities are contributing factors. And not least the positive climate among students.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are seeking an engaged and development-oriented assistant principal who, together with the principal, wants to lead and develop the introduction programs language introduction and individual alternative, as well as the adapted gymnasium. Here you will have the opportunity to work in a meaningful environment with approximately 200 students, where the focus is on quality, participation, and creating the best conditions for each student to succeed based on their own prerequisites.
As assistant principal, you support the principal in the overall responsibility for operations, personnel (approximately 65 employees), and work environment. You are involved in leading pedagogical development work and creating conditions for each student to reach their full potential based on their circumstances and goals. The role involves leading parts of the operations both strategically and operationally, in close collaboration with colleagues, student support services, guardians, and external partners.
Together with the principal and staff, you drive systematic quality work and ensure that operations are conducted in accordance with applicable legislation and governing documents.
The unit also has an assistant unit manager for short-term supervision (after-school care for adapted school students). You participate in the operations management team where, together with other school leaders at Arlanda Gymnasium, you contribute with strong collaboration skills and deep commitment to youth education.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking for someone with a teaching degree and teacher certification. You have experience leading colleagues, either as an assistant principal, work group leader, or lead teacher. You have experience working in schools, preferably with experience working with these target groups. It is advantageous if you have completed or begun a state principal training program and if you have experience developing and leading student support services. You have strong communication skills in Swedish, both spoken and written.
As a person, you are a confident and stable leader who inspires trust through clear, professional, and present leadership. You remain calm and act with good judgment even when operations are characterized by rapid changes, unforeseen events, and many concurrent issues. Through your ability to prioritize, make well-founded decisions, and maintain focus on operational goals, you create security and clarity for both employees and students.
You work in a structured and systematic manner, with strong ability to plan, organize, and follow up on operations to ensure quality and goal achievement. At the same time, you are collaborative and build trustful relationships with employees, students, guardians, and external stakeholders. You view collaboration as a natural part of leadership and actively contribute to an inclusive and developing school environment where both students and staff are given conditions to succeed.
