Your responsibilities Clinical physiology is based on knowledge of organ and body functions and constitutes an important link of knowledge between preclinical technical and molecular-based knowledge and clinical treatment-oriented knowledge, both in terms of developing and reviewing methods from a scientific perspective and often forms a bridge in research between preclinical and clinical work. Clinical physiologists' fundamental physiological competence is used in basic and advanced education. You will work within both education and research as well as associated administrative work. You will follow developments within your subject area and societal developments that are relevant to the work. As an associate professor, you are active within the research community, participate in departmental activities such as seminars and workshops, participate in research projects, communicate results through scientific publications, and contribute to attracting external research funding. In this position, you will particularly work within the areas of work physiology and ergospirometry in close collaboration with both clinical and technical researchers. Teaching duties are at basic and advanced levels in Swedish and English as well as supervising students in various programs within the medical faculty. You will primarily conduct teaching in clinical physiology, which includes utilizing and conveying your knowledge of multiple examination methods and organ systems. The work includes administrative tasks such as course design, course responsibility, and examination. The medical faculty applies student-centered teaching methods. You actively contribute to the university's development work. Collaboration is an integrated part of the university's research and education mission. Collaboration in research occurs through disseminating, making accessible, and utilizing research. Collaboration in education occurs through planning, organizing, and implementing education in partnership with actors from the surrounding society. We would also like you to participate in and show interest in management assignments. The clinical assignment involves service as a specialist physician in clinical physiology at Region Östergötland. Your qualifications We are looking for someone who is a docent or has at least equivalent scientific competence, and has demonstrated pedagogical skill or other professional skill that is important given the subject matter and tasks of the position, and has specialist competence as a physician in clinical physiology. For this employment, equal weight will be given to scientific and pedagogical skill. Regarding scientific skill, the following will be assessed: Requirements for employment are: Scientific competence as a docent or equivalent within a subject relevant to the employment. Meritorious for employment are: Demonstrated ability to obtain external research funding. Experience supervising research education. Good scientific output. An established research line within work physiology. Regarding pedagogical skill, the following will be assessed: Requirements for employment are: Documented pedagogical skill, including through experience teaching within the subject area and pedagogical leadership assignments. Competence in administration and leadership to take responsibility for more extensive teaching assignments. Meritorious for employment are: Experience with student-centered teaching. Completed higher education pedagogy education equivalent to 10 weeks. Experience in pedagogical leadership. Regarding collaboration, documented skill in collaboration within education and research will be assessed, such as previous collaboration with both clinical and preclinical researchers and the ability to connect research to education. Regarding clinical skill, the following will be assessed: Requirements for employment are that you: Are a licensed physician and specialist in clinical physiology. Meritorious for employment are: Clinical profile toward work physiology and ergospirometry. Experience from a leading position in healthcare. Other skills that will be assessed for this employment include leadership ability both within your own research group and interdisciplinary research leadership. Since teaching and research occur primarily in Swedish and English, you must be able to demonstrate the ability to teach and conduct research in both Swedish and English. You are flexible and have the ability to move between different types of pedagogical and scientific contexts. You share knowledge and contribute to the work group's professional development, collegial work practices, and social community.
