We are now recruiting an Assistant Lecturer in Criminal Law to complement and develop the research and educational environment at the Department of Legal Science in Kalmar. The department conducts research in, among other areas, European law, public law, and labor law. Subject area for the position: Legal Science Work location for the time being: Kalmar. Since Linnaeus University is located in both Växjö and Kalmar, travel between the locations may occur. Scope of employment: Full-time for 4 years. Start date: By agreement. The purpose of employment as an Assistant Lecturer is, according to https://www.riksdagen.se/sv/dokument-lagar/dokument/svensk-forfattningssamling/hogskoleforordning-1993100_sfs-1993-100#K4, to give the instructor the opportunity to develop their independence as a researcher and qualify themselves both scientifically and pedagogically to meet the requirements for employment as a Lecturer. According to the Higher Education Ordinance (HF 4 chap 12 c§), an Assistant Lecturer shall, upon application, be promoted to Lecturer if they have both the qualifications for employment as a Lecturer and, upon examination, are deemed suitable for such employment according to the assessment criteria applicable for the position. Such a promotion results in a permanent appointment as a Lecturer. Application and examination for promotion to Lecturer shall take place during the employment period as an Assistant Lecturer. Job Description: As an Assistant Lecturer in Criminal Law at the newly established Department of Legal Science, you will have an active role in building the research environment. The employee shall actively participate in national and international research activities. The employee is expected to have continuous presence in the workplace. The position includes 50% teaching, primarily in the department's legal science program and the upcoming law program, which is under development. Teaching in other courses, for example through secondment to other departments, also occurs. The remaining 50% is expected for the Assistant Lecturer to conduct research within their field with the aim of qualifying for promotion to Lecturer and possible Docent status.
