As an Assistant Vehicle Safety Officer for rail vehicles at the Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company, you will contribute to ensuring that our vehicles are safe, accessible, and efficient - and thereby to a robust and sustainable railway for all of Sweden. You will become an important part of a team that together drives development toward the railway company of the future. Responsibilities You will work with the technical and administrative management of the rail vehicles that the Swedish Transport Administration's Railway Company is responsible for. The role includes: Monitoring maintenance services in accordance with applicable regulations and agreements Responsibility for monitoring and compliance with requirements according to the ECM regulation (EU 2019/779) Ensuring that the vehicles' maintenance systems and processes meet the requirements of CSM-RA (Common Safety Method - Risk Assessment) in case of changes Management of vehicle data, maintenance plans, and technical documentation Participation in inspections and technical assessments of vehicles Active participation in developing and improving internal procedures, governance documents, and processes for vehicle management Planning and conducting supplier audits Ensuring that vehicles in use possess necessary approvals and managing any conditions/restrictions contained in the approval Driving vehicle approval matters with relevant authorities and preparing documentation for internal vehicle approval Providing technical expertise in connection with investigations regarding vehicle safety Participating in meetings where safety matters are discussed You will be part of an engaged and growing team working closely with operations. The position involves travel within Sweden. We are looking for you with: University or college education in engineering (at least 180 credits) or equivalent experience that we assess as equivalent Current and relevant documented technical expertise in rail vehicles, vehicle systems, or vehicle maintenance Knowledge of and experience with CSM-RA and safety management processes in rail Knowledge and experience of the 4th Railway Package Good ability to express yourself in speech and writing in Swedish and English Category B driving license It is advantageous if you have: Experience managing or holding technical responsibility for rail vehicles Previous work in an ECM role or experience applying ECM requirements Experience working with maintenance plans, technical inspections, and documentation Knowledge and experience working with TSD Knowledge and experience working within ERTMS Experience conducting technical accident investigations Additional Information To avoid missing important information about your application, you need to keep yourself updated via My Career Page!
