Welcome to us The Procurement Unit for persons with disabilities and social psychiatry is part of the administration's Support and Services Department. We're looking for a committed case handler in social psychiatry for a permanent position. The unit consists of 17 case handlers, of which 12 work in the LSS (Swedish Disability Services Act) area and 5 work in the social psychiatry area. Daily work is led by a group leader. The unit manager is ultimately responsible for personnel, quality and budget. The unit is part of the authority area together with the elderly care unit, and both units are jointly led by an area manager. Information about our benefits within the City of Stockholm Your role As a case handler, you have the opportunity to work with the individual at the center. Your work is very meaningful and multifaceted as you, in dialogue with the individual and their network, work to find the best solution for them in everyday life. The work as a case handler includes receiving applications/reports, investigating, assessing needs, making decisions and following up on services. You work in close collaboration with colleagues and group leaders on which services can be granted according to the Social Services Act (SoL) and the Act on Support and Services for Certain Disabled Persons (LSS). It also includes making home visits. Your work is based on existing legislation and knowledge support, and you work based on evidence-based practice, meaning you use the three sources of knowledge: service users' perspectives, theoretical knowledge and proven experience. Beyond this, other tasks may be added based on interest and focus, such as participation in specialized teams that drive quality and operations development issues or groups that work on establishing routines and new working methods. If you're the right person, there are great opportunities for individual development within special subject areas based on interest and competence, where previous experience and knowledge are decisive for the direction. In your work you will collaborate with colleagues in the unit, across the city and external partners such as the region, the Swedish Social Insurance Agency, service providers and the employment agency. You should have previous work experience in public administration. Since documentation and record-keeping are a large and important part of the work, you also need to have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. To succeed in the role, you work both independently and in a structured manner by planning, organizing and prioritizing your work well. You have a good ability to establish contact with people in vulnerable situations. You are calm, stable and have the ability to maintain a realistic perspective on situations that arise in daily work as a public official. You have good collaboration skills and enjoy cooperating with other professionals, always with the individual in focus. Furthermore, you adapt easily to changed circumstances and are persistent in your working approach.
