Welcome to the Senior and Disability Services Unit! Work Responsibilities As a benefits coordinator with us, you'll have a qualified and meaningful assignment where you meet people in different life situations and make assessments that are significant for their daily lives. You investigate needs, make decisions, and follow up on services according to the Social Services Act (SoL). The work involves both independent responsibility and close collaboration with colleagues and other professionals. You meet with individuals and maintain contact and collaboration with, for example, family members, guardians and administrators, service providers, health and medical care, and other authorities and partners. The target group consists of seniors and persons with disabilities who need support to make their daily lives as safe and independent as possible. This could include, for example, home care, day activities, short-term housing, respite care, or specialized housing. In this role, you need to be able to listen to the individual's situation, weigh different factors, and make legally sound and well-founded assessments. You also need to be able to prioritize among different tasks, work in a structured manner, and remain flexible when situations change. We work according to IBIC – The Individual's Needs in Focus – and document in the LifeCare management system. About the Workplace The Social Services Administration's main mission is to provide individually adapted support and services within elder care, disability services, child and family services, adult services, and financial assistance. We're here for community residents throughout life's different stages. The Senior and Disability Services Unit consists of approximately 30 employees working in several different areas. Here we have benefits coordinators for elder care, disability services, LSS, and social psychiatry, as well as housing coordinators and methodology advisors. The unit is led by a unit manager and two group managers. The benefits coordinators for elder care form a work team consisting of approximately 15 coordinators focusing on public administration within elder care. The team is led by a group manager and maintains close collegial collaboration in daily work. Once you're introduced and independent in your work, there's an opportunity to work from home approximately two days per week. What We're Looking For in You To succeed in this role, you have: a degree in social work or other academic education assessed as equivalent by the employer good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written basic computer skills a valid driver's license (Class B) It's advantageous if you have: experience with public administration and investigation methods according to IBIC knowledge of the LifeCare management system a valid driver's license (Class B) Personal Qualities We're Looking For The role of benefits coordinator is both qualified and varied. You need to be able to plan and structure your work, make well-considered priorities, and remain flexible when new situations arise. The work involves considerable independent responsibility, but you're not alone – with us, collaboration, knowledge sharing, and support among colleagues are a natural part of everyday work. For us, legally sound processing, well-founded decisions, and respectful conduct are fundamental parts of the assignment. You need to be able to communicate clearly and professionally both orally and in writing, and have the ability to explain assessments and decisions in a way that's understandable to the individual. We're looking for someone who is confident in your professional role, takes responsibility, and can maintain structure even when work is intensive or complex. You have a solution-focused approach, are responsive in collaboration with others, and contribute to a professional and positive work climate. The unit has a strong spirit of collaboration and shared commitment to our mission.
