About the Operation
The operation is a regional accredited department at Falu Hospital that is responsible for morphological diagnostics in Region Dalarna, encompassing clinical pathology, cytology, and autopsy services. Digital pathology and certain molecular diagnostics are established. Those of us working in the department are biomedical analysts, physicians, cytodiagnosticians, medical secretaries, laboratory assistants, and autopsy technicians.
Working hours are Monday through Friday on-site in Falun.
Work Tasks
The main work tasks for a biomedical analyst at the histopathology laboratory consist of preparing tissue samples in various stages for morphological assessment and diagnosis. In routine operations, this includes work steps such as macroscopic assessment and cutting of small tissue preparations, paraffin embedding, sectioning, staining, and microscopic quality assessment. The work tasks are varied, involving both manual methods and technical equipment in our daily operations. Special methods we work with include:
Immunohistochemistry
Gene Protein Analysis (ISH)
Mutation Analysis
Immunofluorescence
Special Staining
Microscopic assessment of sperm samples in infertility investigations.
The laboratory is SWEDAC-accredited and we work according to national standards and quality assurance. A good work environment and job satisfaction are important to us.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone who is
licensed Biomedical Analyst or equivalent education that the employer deems relevant for the work tasks
fluent in Swedish, both spoken and written
We are looking for someone who is meticulous, well-organized, independent, has good collaboration skills, as well as personal suitability and a genuine interest in the operation.
