Bilsmidigt is now hiring a Car Tester / Car Runner to join our team in Upplands Väsby. This is a hybrid role for someone who loves cars, enjoys hands-on work, and appreciates a varied daily routine. The role consists of two main components: testing and inspecting cars that come to us, and working as a car runner to help keep our daily car flow moving smoothly. The split between the two parts is not fixed but is determined by operational needs. During certain periods, you may work up to 100% as a car tester, and during other periods up to 100% as a car runner. You therefore need to be comfortable with both aspects of the job and flexible about where you're needed most at any given time. Our customers can complete their entire car purchase online and have the car delivered directly to their home. At our facility in Upplands Väsby, sales, purchasing, service, reconditioning, tires, logistics, photography, and car testing collaborate to ensure high quality throughout the process. Here we value people who take responsibility, show commitment, and come with their own initiatives. As a Car Tester As a car tester, you are an important part of our incoming car flow. You test, test-drive, and inspect cars that come to us to ensure we have a clear picture of the car's condition and what actions may be needed. You work methodically and thoroughly and need to be able to identify both obvious and subtle faults and deficiencies. Your tasks include: Test and test-drive incoming cars Identify faults, damage, and other deficiencies Document the results of completed tests Inspect the car's functions and general condition Photograph and document relevant discrepancies Report which faults and service needs have been identified Inspect, for example, engine, transmission, brakes, electronics, and other functions As a Car Runner As a car runner, your task is to help keep our car flow moving smoothly. It is a hands-on and mobile role where you ensure cars get to the right place at the right time and assist the logistics team with tasks that need to be completed during the day. A typical workday might involve picking up a car from a customer, driving another to the service center or inspection, and then helping to move and organize cars in our parking areas. Your tasks include: Pick up and deliver cars to customers Move and park cars at the facility Help maintain order of cars and keys Move cars between different locations and parking areas Perform simple checklists, photography, and receipts Assist the logistics team with practical tasks as needed Drive cars to and from service centers, inspections, and partners What We're Looking For You have a strong interest in cars and enjoy hands-on work. You need to be thorough in your work and at the same time be able to work efficiently when the pace is high. Since this is a hybrid role, you need to be flexible, solution-oriented, and comfortable with work tasks changing based on operational needs. You enjoy hands-on work Have a strong passion for cars Are responsible and self-driven Hold a manual transmission B-driver's license Can work at a fast pace Are thorough and have an eye for detail Have a good understanding of how cars work Work well with others and are helpful where needed Are flexible and can switch between different types of work tasks Previous experience from car sales, service centers, car testing, vehicle logistics, reconditioning, or similar work is a plus, but the right attitude and genuine interest in cars carry significant weight.
