invites applications for a Librarian position in the Children's Services Department
(profession code 3433 01, 1 full-time position for an indefinite period)
Requirements for candidates:
Higher education that provides the knowledge and skills necessary to perform the duties of the position;
strong collaboration, communication, and public speaking skills;
ability to creatively organize and lead reading promotion, information literacy, and themed events for children, adolescents, and young people;
strong skills in working with various information sources, information evaluation and analysis skills;
knowledge of literature;
good skills in working with information technology;
excellent knowledge of the Latvian language;
high sense of responsibility, ability to make independent decisions, accuracy, and ability to plan your work while evaluating priorities.
Main duties of the position:
Participate in planning, implementation, and project development for the Children's Services Department;
provide professional service to users of the library's Children's Services Department, train them in the use of information resources;
plan, prepare, organize, and conduct library promotion and reading promotion, information literacy, and themed events/programs, literature and creative work exhibitions for children, adolescents, and young people target audiences, ensure their publicity in the media;
work with the Children's Services Department collection;
work in the ALISE library information system.
Monthly salary for the position - 876,00 EUR before tax deductions (90% of the specified monthly salary during the trial period).
