Job Responsibilities
As a librarian, you will work on developing the school's ICT-promoting initiatives. You will support staff and students in this development by:
- Developing and updating the library's website
- Responsibility for creating and updating search guides
- In collaboration with teaching staff, plan and conduct progressive information literacy and source criticism instruction
- Guide teachers and other staff in the use of digital information sources
- Conduct book talks
- Continuously develop physical and digital literature promotion functions
- Work at the information desk
- Media work such as acquisitions, cataloging, weeding, and displays
As a librarian, you will work for lifelong learning and thereby positive development for students; an interest in literature and culture is therefore important. You will be part of a team with other librarians, library assistants, and other staff.
Qualifications
We are looking for someone with:
- Bachelor's degree (180 higher education credits) including 90 credits in the main subject of Library and Information Science
- Good digital competence
- Very good Swedish, both spoken and written
It is meritorious if you have:
- Pedagogical education or similar
- Knowledge of languages other than Swedish
As a person, you are communicative, service-oriented, and creative, as you daily meet new questions and information problems in conversation with visitors. You treat visitors with attentiveness and consideration, and in order to be able to break down information problems into different parts and see connections, you need to be analytical. The work involves collecting and organizing different media, which requires you to be organized and able to organize and prioritize activities efficiently. You value diversity and understand how background, culture, and group affiliation affect yourself and others.
