Welcome to join us! Your Responsibilities We are seeking a librarian who wants to be part of developing the library as an open, inclusive, and inspiring meeting place. Here you will combine traditional library work with reading promotion initiatives and development in close collaboration with the cultural center and city library. In this role, you will work with traditional library tasks such as information services and media management, as well as creating a vibrant cultural center in collaboration with other stakeholders. You will meet visitors of different ages and contribute to an accessible and welcoming library and cultural center. An important part is planning and implementing activities that promote reading, learning, and participation in society, both digitally and in-person. You will collaborate with the cultural center's activities and the city library to create relevant activities and media offerings based on visitors' needs and wishes. Your Workplace You will work in the Culture Department, which consists of the units Museums and Cultural Heritage as well as Art and Cultural Scenes. Agora, which belongs to Art and Cultural Scenes, is a cultural center where the library is part of the center's activities. You will have your workplace at Agora Library and collaborate with other activities within the cultural center as well as with other libraries in the municipality. Agora Library in Linköping is part of a modern cultural center in Skäggetorp that houses a library, café, studio, music studio, and several stages for various activities. It is a vibrant meeting place where people can read, participate in events, and meet in an open and reading-friendly environment. The library should be an interactive meeting place for everyone. Central to us is working with democracy, education, and culture. We work on lifting prioritized target groups, operating outside our own premises, collaborating with other activities, and increasing participatory culture. We should create space for new thinking, open up for new cultural expressions in close collaboration with other cultural activities and civil society. About You We are seeking you with a degree in library and information science or another degree from a college or university that the employer deems equivalent. It is a merit if you have previously worked as a librarian and have experience with reading promotion work for different target groups, preferably for children and youth. Furthermore, it is a merit if you have experience collaborating with different activities or external stakeholders. You have good digital competence and the ability to support users with digital matters. You have good knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written, as you will have extensive contact both internally and externally. As a person, you are collaborative and contribute to a positive and engaging work environment. The role requires you to be self-directed, take responsibility for your tasks, and enjoy working toward set goals. At the same time, you are service-oriented and confident in professional settings, build good relationships, and meet both colleagues and visitors in a professional, attentive, and inclusive manner.
