About the Workplace The libraries in Ale are located in Nödinge, Skepplanda, Surte, and Älvängen. Together, we are 12 librarians who do our best to offer relevant and interesting library services to all Ale residents and visitors. Ale library is part of Bibliotek i väst (BIV), which consists of seven municipalities in the surrounding area. We hope you want to become one of us! Job Responsibilities Do you want to work with accessibility from a library perspective for all of Ale? If so, we have the job for you! We are now looking for a librarian with a focus on accessibility who works proactively and creatively to deliver library services to Ale residents of all ages. Potential collaboration partners may include adapted primary schools, SFI, and/or community organizations. You will work based on the library's mission to offer library services to the priority target groups mentioned in the Library Act. Part of your role will involve collaboration with the IT librarian in their assignment, for example participating in various IT networks and sharing system responsibility in daily work. You will be based at Ale library in Nödinge, but you will collaborate with all nearby libraries and need to be able to travel between them (by public transportation or by car). Qualifications Degree in Library and Information Science, or ongoing education in this field. You have experience working with target groups in mind and have a strong ability to achieve results. You need to be able to work independently within given frameworks, but also be able to collaborate with colleagues both within the organization and with civil society. You will also staff the information desk and, together with your colleagues, plan and carry out activities and programs. A requirement for being offered the position is therefore that you have experience working in a public library, preferably with an emphasis on outreach work. The role requires many contacts and close collaborations, which presupposes that you are inclusive, trustworthy, and skilled at creating relationships of trust. You are curious, driven, courageous, and dare to think differently. You have good interpersonal skills and are interested in people. You need to be experienced with library systems and be open to working with other IT-related tasks. Other Information Working hours according to schedule.
