Sigtuna Municipality's libraries are located in four places: Märsta, Sigtuna, Valsta, and Rosersberg. This position is based at the new Mimer Cultural Center in Valsta. Mimer is not a cultural center where different activities simply share spaces - here we work together to create something greater. Through collaboration between the library, culture, civil society, and the municipality's operations, we want to create a place where people meet, learn, create, and feel involved. Here we want to provide space for reading, creativity, language, democracy, and community, and we're looking for you to help turn these ideas into reality!

DUTIES
As a librarian with an educational focus for adults, you will help develop the library as a place where people have the opportunity to grow, learn, and feel involved.
You enjoy meeting people with different experiences and see the strength in building relationships. Through language, literature, culture, and educational activities, you create programming that makes the library relevant to more people.
We're looking for someone who is curious about people's stories and who wants to find new ways to work together with residents, colleagues, and partners. You thrive in a role where no two days are the same and where you can combine pedagogy, relationship-building, and program development.
In this role, you will, among other things:
• plan and implement language development, reading promotion, and creative activities for adults and seniors
• create programming that strengthens people's participation, independence, and lifelong learning
• build relationships and collaborate with SFI (Swedish for Immigrants), adult education, elderly care, associations, and other stakeholders
• develop the library's multilingual and inclusive programming with new ideas and methods
• work with literature promotion, the library's adult media collections, and inspire reading
• staff the information desk and provide service, support, and inspiration to library visitors
QUALIFICATIONS
We're looking for someone who
• Has academic education in library and information science or other education and/or work experience that the employer considers equivalent
• Is pedagogical, curious, and skilled at building trusting relationships
• Enjoys meeting people with different backgrounds, languages, and life experiences
• Wants to develop the library together with colleagues, residents, and partners
• Has an inclusive approach and believes in the library's role as an open meeting place for everyone
• It is meritorious if you have experience with folk education, adult learning, or language development work, preferably within libraries, and if you speak one or more languages in addition to Swedish and English.

Duration: Permanent.
Information sessions, evening and weekend shifts are included, as well as work at the municipality's other libraries as needed.
