Do you want to work developing program activities at the libraries in Danderyd? We are now seeking an engaged, creative, and collaborative librarian at 60% with a special focus on developing and coordinating program activities for the libraries. The libraries in Danderyd consist of four libraries: Danderyds bibliotek in Danderyd centrum (formerly Mörby centrum), Djursholms bibliotek, Enebybergs bibliotek, and Stocksunds bibliotek. We work together to create a relevant, inclusive, and inspiring library service based on: • The Culture and Leisure Committee's activity plan • The Library Plan 2025–2030 • The Convention on the Rights of the Child Our library plan has three priority areas: Reading promotion and cultural experiences, knowledge and information, and accessible meeting places with a focus on participation, accessibility, and safety. 1 position(s). WORK DUTIES As a library employee in Danderyd Municipality, you work to ensure that the library is accessible and welcoming to everyone you meet. We offer a wide range of services for children, young people, and adults. Your work duties include staffing the information desk, providing readers' advisory services, working in digital environments, managing book collections and other media. You work closely with your colleagues and together you develop the library service. As an employee, you have different focus areas, for example program activities, children and young people, or literature procurement. The focus area for this position involves developing and coordinating program activities, with a focus on the adult target group. As responsible for the program activities focus area, you are responsible for developing, coordinating, and ensuring the quality of the library's program offerings. Program activities include events and activities that the libraries offer with the aim of promoting reading, learning, democracy, and social community. The assignment includes, among other things: • Developing ideas for and planning the library's program activities. • Being a resource in implementing programs and events. • Coordinating program activities in close dialogue with colleagues throughout the library organization. • Planning, organizing, and moderating programs such as author talks, book circles, lectures, and other literary events together with other members of the program group. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for someone who has: • A degree in library and information science, or another relevant degree. • Experience planning and implementing program activities, preferably in a library context. • Good computer skills and knowledge of library management systems. • Excellent knowledge of Swedish, both spoken and written. It is advantageous if you have: • Experience with project management. • A well-established network within, for example, the publishing and literary industry. We are looking for someone who is initiative-taking, communicative, and creative. We also believe you need to be relationship-building and able to get a good overview of the operations. You have great commitment, are confident, and genuinely enjoy collaborating with colleagues and other local actors. You also need to be able to work independently, take responsibility, and contribute new ideas to the service. We place great emphasis on personal competencies.
