Ref: 20261978 Job Responsibilities We are now seeking a development-oriented and curious librarian for Lindängenbiblioteket who wants to work with, and together with, children and young people. The assignment involves strengthening and developing our work for older children and adolescents. You will become an important part of our reading promotion efforts and work to ensure that the library is a relevant, safe, and inspiring meeting place for children and young people. You plan, implement, and develop activities for the target group. This can include book discussions, reading promotion initiatives, creative activities, workshops, games, digital creation, or other activities that develop through dialogue with the target group. An important part of the assignment is to build relationships and work in an outreach capacity. You collaborate with schools, leisure activities, associations, and other actors to reach more children and young people and create activities based on their needs and interests. You use digital tools as a natural part of your work and see the opportunities that new technology offers to strengthen reading enthusiasm, creativity, and participation. The position is part of the library's regular operations. This means you also work with staffing, guidance, and service to the library's visitors and contribute to the development of the entire library's activities. You will work with all of the library's users with a focus on prioritized target groups. The role also includes monitoring external developments. Evenings and weekend shifts occur. Qualifications We are looking for you who Have a higher education degree in library and information science, or a bachelor's degree with 90 credits in library and information science as the main subject Have experience with reading promotion work and/or experience with library activities focused on children and young people Have a relationship-building, attentive, and inclusive working style Enjoy working outward-facing and creating collaborations Have experience planning and implementing activities or programs Are accustomed to using digital tools in your work Have good knowledge of Swedish and English in speech and writing Additional languages common in Malmö are advantageous Who are you?
