Uddevalla Libraries is now seeking a librarian with a focus on communication and young adults. The position is a temporary assignment within the Culture and Leisure Administration of Uddevalla Municipality. Uddevalla Libraries consists of the City Library, Dalaberg Library, Rampen Library, and Ljungskile Library. You'll be joining us during an exciting time. Uddevalla is investing in Culture at the Center, and in fall/winter 2026, the City Library will move to Gallionen on Kungsgatan. This gives us new opportunities to develop libraries as open, accessible, and inspiring meeting places. Uddevalla Libraries is also part of the collaboration Fyrstad Libraries together with Lysekil, Trollhättan, and Vänersborg. This means you'll become part of a larger network with colleagues, experience sharing, and shared development. Work Tasks Develop clear and accessible communication together with the municipality's communications department in accordance with existing laws and guidelines. Create posters and printed materials that make library offerings clear, accessible, and appealing to our visitors. Develop the libraries' presence on social media, for example Instagram and Facebook. You produce posts, images, and videos that generate interest and reach more people. Take special responsibility for developing library work with young adults. Plan and implement programs that strengthen the library's role as a meeting place, for example digital guidance for the public. Perform standard librarian tasks, such as working at the information desk in the children's and adult sections, selecting materials, and providing IT guidance to visitors. You will work closely with web managers from the libraries in Fyrstad and participate in work on the libraries' website. Who We're Looking For We're looking for someone who works in a structured and independent manner, with a strong ability to analyze, plan, prioritize, and solve problems. You have a pedagogical approach, demonstrate attentive and individual-focused interactions, and have good collaboration skills. You have good knowledge of the Swedish language, both spoken and written. If you have additional language skills beyond Swedish and English, we view that as a merit. Qualifications You have a degree in Library and Information Science or other education that the employer deems equivalent. You have good IT skills. It is a merit if you have experience with and interest in communication and social media in public operations. It is also a merit if you have knowledge of the DOS Act (the Accessibility to Digital Public Services Act), GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation), and copyright. We place great importance on personal suitability and are looking for someone who wants to make the library relevant, visible, and accessible to more people.
