We hope you will enjoy working with us! About the position The libraries in Uddevalla consist of four units: City Library, Dalabergs Library, Rampens Library, and Ljungskile Library. In fall/winter 2026, Uddevalla's city library will move to Kungsgatan. We are now seeking a librarian with responsibility for children and young adults at Dalabergs Library. Dalabergs Library has a multilingual profile. The library holds books and magazines in approximately 30 different languages. The library's programming activities offer opportunities for cultural experiences of various kinds for children, young adults, and adults alike. Work tasks Acquisition of media for children and young adults, in both Swedish and other languages, as well as weeding work to keep the collection attractive and up to date. Staffing the information desk and maintaining the library premises in good order Responsibility for programming activities for children and young adults at Dalabergs Library, such as story hours, baby activities, holiday activities, summer reading, and class visits. Collaboration with other actors such as the open preschool at Dalaberg, the School of Culture, preschools, and well-child clinics, and participation in relevant networks, both local and regional. You will be part of the children's librarian group in the municipality, where much planning and development of work with this target group takes place. Who are we looking for? Creative – You are innovative and bring ideas for new ways of working that can be implemented in practice. Initiative-taking – You take initiative, start activities, and conduct evaluations. Structured – You plan, organize, and prioritize your work in an efficient manner. You set and maintain timelines. Relationship-building – You are outgoing and socially active. You make contacts and maintain relationships. We welcome knowledge of or interest in children's and young adults' media worlds and language development so that you can inspire your target group to read. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Qualifications You have a degree in library and information science or other education that the employer deems equivalent You have a good ability to express yourself in Swedish, both orally and in writing. You have good digital competence with an interest in guiding users in digital services. It is advantageous if you have previously worked with or have extensive knowledge of children and young adults whose mother tongue is not Swedish and children and young adults with disabilities. You are familiar with UX methods or similar methods for user-driven service development. Knowledge of languages other than Swedish and English is also advantageous. Other information Interviews are scheduled for the following dates: September 21, 23, 25. Employment is contingent on necessary decisions being made. For positions where work involves direct and regular contact with children and young people, as well as for activities under the LSS (Act on Support and Service for Persons with Certain Functional Impairments), care, healthcare, psychiatric care, and substance abuse care, a valid extract from the police criminal record must be presented or submitted before employment.
