We who work in Stockholm City contribute to shaping a sustainable Stockholm where everyone can grow. You will work at the Enskede, Årsta, Vantör-Älvsjö unit. The unit has seven libraries: Enskede Library, Hagsätra Library, Högdalen Library, Årsta Library, Älvsjö Library, Örby Library, and Östberga Library. Enskede Library is an extended hours library where our visitors can receive service outside regular opening hours. Hagsätra-Rågsved has for several years been one of Stockholm City's focus areas, and we direct our outreach activities there especially for children and young people. The unit has approximately 45 employees and is led by a unit manager and a group manager. What we offer With us you get important work where every meeting with our users is filled with meaning. Your role Your daily tasks include meeting and helping visitors of all ages, working with the library's books and journals, and guiding and supporting visitors in digital services and the technology connected to the library's offerings. You have a good understanding of the library's public mission, and you are comfortable working to promote reading to both children, young people, and adult Stockholmers. Your tasks include performing administrative work connected to the library's operations. You are service-oriented and have a warm, inclusive, and professional demeanor. You have an ability to contribute to good encounters with the library's visitors, whether they want literature recommendations, information guidance, or help with the copier. You thrive in a changing environment where you contribute to the operation and the library's physical spaces reaching their full potential. You work in a structured manner and have the ability to plan and manage your work, but you also thrive in an environment where you can improvise and seize opportunities. You are a confident and stable presence in the library space and in the work team you are a team player. As a librarian with us, you have a key role in developing the library's reading promotion work and information services. You work with the library's books and journals, and you implement public programs and activities. You plan, carry out, and evaluate work with a focus on development and improvements. You promote participation and co-creation in your encounters with Stockholmers. You will be part of a work team focused on adults, but will support work with other target groups as needed. Within your assignment you have collaborations internally within Stockholm Public Library, and you may be part of one of our networks. You also collaborate and cooperate with people and organizations outside the library, such as the district, education providers, or local associations. Your competence and experience We are looking for someone who has: A bachelor's degree in library and information science or other education that the employer deems equivalent. At least two years of experience as a librarian. Basic digital competence (such as using a computer and mobile phone, searching the internet, using apps and digital systems). Very good knowledge of Swedish in both speech and writing. It is a merit if you have: Experience with reading promotion, information, or literature services. Worked with service and customer care to support, guide, and help people. Additional language skills besides Swedish. To succeed in this role, it is of great importance that you have the following qualities and skills: Service-oriented Good collaboration skills Engaged Stable Self-directed Other information Evening and weekend shifts are part of the position. Parts of the working time are scheduled. The work can periodically be physically demanding due to lifting and moving of materials. This position is a one-year temporary appointment with an employment rate of 75% at Kista Library. In connection with any employment, we want to see an extract from the criminal record register.
