Östersund Library is now seeking a dedicated librarian to join our Media Group team with a focus on children and young people. The Media Group works with media acquisitions, collection reviews, and making library collections visible. Here at our libraries, we do more than lend books - we create memorable experiences for children, young people, and adults. Östersund Library is organizationally located within the Culture and Recreation Administration, Östersund Municipality. The library organization comprises one main library, three branch libraries, two library buses, and a school library center. Help visitors find what they need among the shelves and guide them to new favorite books. Provide digital support and guidance to strengthen our visitors' IT skills. Staff the library and meet visitors of all ages. Work evenings and weekends according to schedule. Collaborate with colleagues. Your Qualifications Requirements You have a degree in Library and Information Science Meriting You have good knowledge of literature and enjoy everything from classics to the latest published books. You have digital knowledge and feel comfortable working with various digital tools. You have experience working in a library. You have experience with acquisitions and collection reviews. We Are Looking for You You are thorough and well aware of goals and quality, placing great emphasis on living up to these. You find it easy to collaborate closely with others and contribute to good relationships through a responsive, flexible, and constructive working approach. Listening and communicating clearly in a professional manner is an important part of the assignment. A service-oriented attitude is crucial. This means treating others with calm, attention, and an accommodating attitude, as well as actively working to find solutions and provide support where needed. The work also requires a high degree of structure. This means planning, organizing, and prioritizing tasks efficiently, setting clear boundaries, and keeping to given schedules.
