About the Position
We are now looking for someone who wants to make a difference in students' daily school life. You will work both individually with students and together with teachers and the student support team to create a link between school, home, and students. Your work as a student well-being coordinator and attendance coach will have a special focus on developing and implementing systematic, preventive, and developmental initiatives aimed at increasing students' attendance and well-being at school.
You will be part of a dedicated team of educators and student support staff where you together plan for and are responsible for students' education and development. Your task is to create the best conditions for each student through a safe and trusting environment. A central part of your work is to build and strengthen relationships both between school and home and between students and school staff to increase security and promote student engagement in school.
Responsibilities
In this role, you will work as a student well-being coordinator and attendance coach alongside another attendance coach and two teaching assistants. The work should be developmental and preventive at its core, but you will also support students who need help managing various life challenges, such as high absenteeism, mental health issues, or family problems. You will offer both individual and group-based support to strengthen students' well-being, improve their school attendance, and give them tools to handle social situations.
Responsibilities include:
Conversations and guidance for students with a focus on increasing attendance and engagement in school.
Support with social problems that may affect attendance, such as conflict resolution.
Collaboration with parents, school staff, and external partners to create cohesive and effective support interventions.
Preventive and developmental work to create a safe and inclusive school environment that encourages students to be present and participate.
Observation and documentation of students' needs, and identification of factors affecting attendance.
Coordination with school leadership, the school's student support team, and other partners to develop and implement support measures that improve attendance.
Training and consultation to school staff to effectively support students and improve their attendance and participation.
Actively address issues concerning student well-being, safety, and attendance at school.
Facilitate the school's student council and, as part of your student well-being role, meet with students daily for relationship-building work in the school's common areas, hallways, classrooms, and schoolyard.
We Are Looking For You
We are looking for someone with relevant education, such as social worker, behavioral specialist, social work, psychologist, teacher, or special education teacher. You have experience working with young people and providing social support, preferably with a background in social work, pedagogy, or another relevant field. You may have experience with democratically anchored work and/or project management roles as a foundation for increased engagement or well-being and culture. Experience working in schools or with young people in social support roles is a merit. Fluent Swedish in speech and writing is a requirement.
As a person, you are passionate about creating a positive and developmental school environment for all students and have the ability to work purposefully to increase students' attendance and engagement in school. As a relationship-builder and collaboration-oriented person, you build trusting relationships with both students and colleagues. To thrive and succeed in this role, you also need to be independent and confident in your work and be firmly grounded in the school's values. Personal suitability is of great importance.
This position is suitable for you if you want to combine social work with education and help create conditions for students' well-being, learning, and attendance.
