We are now seeking an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator who wants to take a central role in the department's work within emergency preparedness and civil defense. The Emergency Preparedness Coordinator is organized within the Security and Preparedness Unit. Job Responsibilities As an Emergency Preparedness Coordinator, you will develop and coordinate the department's work within civil defense, emergency preparedness, and continuity planning. The department is responsible for the societally critical areas of water, sewage, and waste, and preparedness matters are embedded across all operations. In this role, you will: Coordinate and lead the department's emergency preparedness group, which consists of members from all departments. Take responsibility for planning heightened preparedness by participating in the development of emergency preparedness plans, wartime organization, and wartime placement work. Coordinate and develop systematic continuity management to ensure that operations can be maintained even during disruptions. Develop and coordinate work within resource functions for which the department is responsible, serve as the department's representative in the network of the city's other resource functions, and create conditions for effective cooperation between relevant stakeholders. Work with supply chain preparedness by mapping, analyzing, and setting requirements for business-critical goods and services to ensure the department can function even under pressured circumstances. Responsible for developing the department's training and exercise plan and conducting exercises in accordance with it. Provide information and training in both emergency preparedness and continuity management across the entire department. Manage and provide training in emergency communications through RAKEL and serve as the department's representative in this area and in the development toward SWEN. Contribute expertise and analyses within risk and vulnerability assessment (RSA), with particular focus on how various risks and events can affect water supply and other societally critical operations. You will also be the department's representative in the city's preparedness network, where you will gain a broad network of contacts and opportunities to collaborate with actors from across the City of Gothenburg. This role offers substantial autonomy and excellent opportunities to influence development in an area that is becoming increasingly important for societal security and resilience. Qualifications We are seeking someone who has: Post-secondary education in security, emergency preparedness, or another field that the employer deems relevant, or equivalent work experience. Several years of experience working within continuity management, supply chain preparedness, or civil defense. Very strong communication skills in both spoken and written form, as the work involves developing governing documents, analyses, and decision-making materials. We consider it a merit if you have knowledge of RAKEL. You work in a structured and methodical manner and have the ability to translate complex issues into clear materials and practical solutions. The role involves many contact points, which requires you to be communicative and have a talent for building good collaborations. Terms and Conditions The position is security classified and requires passed security clearance, which includes drug and alcohol testing, background checks with the Security Police, and Swedish citizenship.
