Your Workplace
The Preparedness Unit's mission is to support all Region Värmland operations in the area of civil preparedness (crisis preparedness and civil defense). Some of our areas of responsibility include risk and vulnerability analyses, continuity management, and the region's crisis management organization. The unit is also responsible for the region's duty officer function (TiB).
The unit is organized within the Security and Preparedness Department, which in addition to civil preparedness also handles the region's security protection, general safety, e-service cards, and pass administration.
The department is also responsible for the region's work against welfare fraud and coordinates and manages several of Region Värmland's property and liability insurances. The department has approximately 30 employees, with eight currently working in the preparedness area.
Work with crisis preparedness and civil defense is a prioritized area for Region Värmland where rapid development is occurring, something you as an employee will have the chance to be part of. Your Responsibilities
The area of civil defense is significantly influenced and guided by national directives, which can change over time based on the international situation and state priorities. This means that in the role of emergency preparedness coordinator with a focus on civil defense, you need to be well-informed about the most current guidelines and how they can affect the region's mission.
Work with civil defense is largely conducted in project form, often in close collaboration with other operations. In this role, you coordinate and develop the work and ensure support and follow-up as needed. This includes creating, planning, and implementing training and exercises within civil preparedness.
The responsibilities are varied and involve both analytical and investigative tasks as well as practical coordination of processes and activities. As an emergency preparedness coordinator, you achieve goals and results largely through collaboration with others, both internally within Region Värmland and in external collaboration forums.
Your Knowledge and Competencies
We are looking for someone with relevant academic education or equivalent experience that the employer considers equivalent. We appreciate if you have experience planning and implementing knowledge-enhancing activities, training, and exercises. It is important that you feel comfortable giving presentations, conducting workshops, and leading meetings.
To succeed in this role, you need the ability to shift perspective between an overarching level and practical implementation. We are looking for someone with strong communication skills, who is a team player and has a strong security awareness. We value if you are independent, take initiative, are well-organized, results-oriented, and possess a very strong ability to collaborate.
Meriting Experience:
Experience working with civil preparedness issues
Work at a preparedness authority
Experience leading development work within public administration
Experience with staff and management work
Experience with project management
The position may involve business travel, so possession of a driver's license category B is a requirement. The position is classified for security, which means a security clearance with background check according to the Security Protection Act. Employment requires Swedish citizenship.
