Are you at the beginning of your legal career and want to work in an eventful daily environment? At the Western District Prosecution Office, there is a special area team for high-volume offenses where all police-led preliminary investigations of a straightforward nature from the four general prosecution offices within the Stockholm Prosecution District are handled. We are primarily seeking preparation attorneys for this area team. Your Responsibilities As a preparation attorney on the high-volume offenses team, you will work alongside prosecutors and assist them with various administrative matters. You will participate in preparatory work for different prosecution decisions, for example by reviewing relevant cases. You will work independently but also as part of a group to ensure the administrative work functions smoothly. Service is a significant part of your daily work, both internally and externally. By telephone and email, you will have extensive contact with the public and with other government agencies, particularly within the justice system. Your workday is event-driven and new cases can arrive quickly, requiring you to make rapid decisions and prioritize your work. Your Qualities and Qualifications We are looking for someone who is a Swedish citizen and has completed or is nearing completion of their legal education. When starting as a preparation attorney, you must have completed your law degree. We want you to have a strong interest in criminal and procedural law and the activities conducted by the Public Prosecution Authority be thorough, structured, and able to follow the guidelines and procedures in place be proactive and take responsibility, and be able to independently prepare your cases have the ability to prioritize, work persistently and efficiently be stress-resilient as workload can sometimes be high have an easy time collaborating, building good working relationships, and have an open approach to those around you be service-oriented have the ability to express yourself well in Swedish, both verbally and in writing have good communication skills. About the Employment The employment is a permanent position with a 6-month probationary period. Work is performed on-site, with no opportunity for remote work. A requirement for this employment is that you have a Nordic law degree. We offer a salary level based on work tasks adapted for someone at the beginning of their legal career. Prior to an employment offer, the Public Prosecution Authority may conduct a background check in the suspicion register and the criminal record register. The background check is conducted on the final candidate. The Public Prosecution Authority is a civil contingency agency.
