Treatment Staff for Our New Unit in Höör Would you like to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? SiS Youth Facility Hässleholm is planning to open a new unit in Karlsvik-Höör and is therefore seeking additional treatment staff for the unit. This position offers a unique opportunity to participate in launching a new operation! Job Description The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) has the mission to receive adults and young people who have problems with criminality, drug abuse, or other antisocial behavior. In Hässleholm, we receive young people aged 12-15 who have a higher security classification. They begin their care stay in units that conduct structured assessments of their treatment needs with recommendations for further interventions. The young people can then move to a treatment unit with us where they work through their individual treatment plans on identified risk areas. Our units in Hässleholm are locked, but in Höör, approximately 30 minutes away, is our new open unit. About the Upcoming Unit: The unit located in Höör will be an open treatment unit and is expected to open in spring 2027 as part of SiS Youth Facility Hässleholm's care chain. The opening date is preliminary and may change. Young people come to the current unit when they no longer require the heightened security available in Hässleholm. The unit has a lower security classification compared to operations in Hässleholm, and its 7 young people will practice during their placement toward a more independent life and will be prepared for subsequent open care forms/services. The young people are primary school students and are planned to have their schooling in Hässleholm. This means that the position regularly includes travel during working hours and duty in Hässleholm as treatment staff are present during school days. About Working as a Treatment Pedagogue: As a treatment pedagogue, you actively contribute to ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. You are a support in their daily lives and help ensure that everyday activities run smoothly—schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. A central task is to be a positive role model for the young people and provide them with positive experiences from the adult world. In addition to treatment work, your duties include documentation and contributing to maintaining security according to our procedures. Being a contact person for the young people is also one of your responsibilities. Your work may also include mentoring new staff members and interns. Many different professional categories work with us, and you will regularly interact with them. We all share the goal of making a difference for young people, and we are people who can stand firm even when young people offer resistance. This is a job for you if you see a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, gratifying, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, commitment, and mindset. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of human nature. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and share SiS values: to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are secure in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: A diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or Education from a university/college in social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.
