The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is an authority responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse. SiS also implements closed youth care. We do this at youth facilities and homes for adults with substance abuse throughout the country. At SiS, your work life becomes an exciting challenge. We have both closed and open places for closed youth care as well as treatment places for youth placed under the Care of Young People Act (LVU). Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position of treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivational work and providing support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our routines and help ensure that daily life runs smoothly with school, cleaning, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, fulfilling, and varied. Work hours are according to schedule: day, evening, and every other weekend. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training for 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values, being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the staff group. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You collaborate easily with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: At least one diploma from a 2-year post-upper secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent Class B driving license Good Swedish in speech and writing It is meritorious if you have: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as work in psychiatry or in disability care services (LSS) Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as correctional officer Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.) At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
