The Swedish Prison and Probation Service, SiS, is a state authority responsible for individualized compulsory care for youth and adults with substance abuse. SiS also manages closed youth care. SiS youth home Eknäs admits school-age boys aged 12-16 years with psychosocial problems, criminal behavior, and substance abuse issues. The institution is located just outside Enköping in a scenic area near Lake Mälaren. At SiS, your working life will be an exciting challenge. Then the position as treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the youth and clients living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to fulfilling treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and contribute to smooth daily operations including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also among your work tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. Our vision is to be a place for change, and this permeates our approach, our commitment, and our attitude. Working hours are scheduled shifts including days, evenings, and weekends. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training course. The training alternates between theory and supervised introduction, preparing you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values—being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation with our youth. As a person, you are confident in yourself and have an easy time building relationships with youth as well as with other team members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focused on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university with behavioral science orientation. B-category driving license Good Swedish in speech and writing Merits for the position include: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., within psychiatry or LSS care Experience from client-facing positions in the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, e.g., as a correctional officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, e.g., handler at the detention facility Education in care and welfare At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
