The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually adapted compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. Job Description Do you want to help create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to implementing treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You help ensure security is maintained according to our routines and you help keep daily life running smoothly with cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibility is also one of your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, fulfilling, and varied. As a new employee, you will undergo SiS basic training lasting 10 weeks. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training prepares you for the treatment educator role in SiS operations. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS core values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are secure in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with both clients and other team members. You have good communication skills and can stay calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a higher education institution that we assess as equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious: Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, e.g., work in psychiatry or in LSS care Experience from client-facing positions at the Prison Service Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Migration Agency, e.g., case officer at the Detention Center Education in care and nursing Experience working at SiS At SiS, we value good teamwork.
