The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (SiS) is an agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse. We receive clients who have mental health issues and clients who require medical care. We have operations in Lund. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position as treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the implementation of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal certainty, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain security according to our procedures and participate in ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with activities, cleaning, cooking, and more. Case management is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and interns. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training. The training alternates theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. You will also complete mandatory theoretical introduction and practical conflict management training, locally, with the next session on September 23-24. We are strengthening staffing for even better care and treatment for our clients and are therefore hiring several new employees. Qualifications To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of people. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our clients. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with clients as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You should also have: A diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) with a focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we consider equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing Meritorious Experience from work within SiS Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as work in psychiatry or in LSS care Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as correctional officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, such as officer at a detention facility Education in care and nursing Experience working with our target group At SiS, we cultivate good collegial relationships.
