Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? If so, working as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. SiS youth home Ljungaskog is planning to open a new unit in Helsingborg and is therefore seeking treatment pedagogues for night shift work. As a treatment pedagogue in our discharge preparation unit, you will be an important part of young people's journey toward a more independent life. The unit is part of the institution, but you work closely with the young people in their daily lives in a residence outside the institutional area. You work in a team with other treatment pedagogues, a group leader, and a treatment coordinator. The unit is led by a unit manager. Together, you are responsible for ensuring that the young people living with us receive the security, care, and treatment they need. The unit is an open treatment unit and an important part of SiS's internal care chain, which aims for a gradual and structured transition from institutional care. The focus is to support young people in establishing and maintaining functional strategies and skills for life outside the institutional environment. Treatment activities mainly consist of skills training aimed at preparing young people for a functional life after discharge, both practically and socially. As a night shift treatment pedagogue, you help young people get back on track by being a safe and stable role model. You are responsible for the unit's security during nighttime hours. The position involves working alone on the unit and includes supervision duties and documentation. The work requires considerable independence, thoroughness, and knowledge of working environment and safety. Working hours are according to schedule. Evening and night shifts depending on position and schedule. As a new employee, you will complete SiS basic training over 10 weeks. The training alternates theory with supervised introduction, and it prepares you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications for Treatment Pedagogue To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values—to be a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other members of the staff. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You should also have: Diploma from a 2-year post-secondary education at a folk high school or vocational school (KY/YH) focused on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we deem equivalent. Category B driving license Good Swedish in speech and writing Experience working with people in vulnerable life situations, such as work in psychiatry or within disability care (LSS) Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Prison and Probation Service, such as Correctional Officer Security guard training Experience from client-facing positions at the Swedish Migration Agency, such as handler at a detention facility Education in healthcare and social care Experience working with our target group (such as substance abuse care, youth care, school) At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
