The Swedish National Board of Institutional Care (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is a government agency responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for adolescents with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS youth home Ljungaskog serves non-compulsory school-age girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse, and self-harm problems. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating life-changing transformation for vulnerable people? If so, a position as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the adolescents and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and provide daily support. With your knowledge of care and treatment work, you actively contribute to the fulfillment of treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and monitoring of our operations. You help maintain safety according to our procedures and participate in ensuring daily activities run smoothly, including schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also among your tasks. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in difficult life situations. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. Qualifications Qualifications for Treatment Educator To succeed in your work, you have a well-founded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values of being a place for change. Additionally, you have a good ability to create engagement and participation with our adolescents. As a person, you are confident and find it easy to build relationships with adolescents as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts constructively. You must also have: A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education program at a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) focused on social/pedagogical treatment work or equivalent higher education Class B driver's license Good Swedish proficiency, both spoken and written At SiS, we value good collaboration.
