Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS, is an authority responsible for individually adapted involuntary care for young people with complex psychosocial problems and for adults with substance abuse issues. SiS also manages closed youth care. We do this at youth homes and facilities for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-compulsory school girls with psychosocial problems, substance abuse, and self-harm issues. The institution is tasked with providing care for girls with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment pedagogue at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment pedagogue, you work in a team with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified nursing and motivational work and with providing support in daily life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to implementing treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and follow-up of our operations. You contribute to maintaining safety according to our procedures and participate in ensuring that daily activities run smoothly, including schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Being a contact person is also one of your responsibilities. The work may also include mentoring new employees and interns. This is a job for someone who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, rewarding, and varied. We are recruiting for permanent positions, temporary positions, and hourly employment. As a new employee on a permanent contract, you will complete SiS basic training lasting 10 weeks. In the training, theory is combined with guided introduction, and the training equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications for Treatment Pedagogue To succeed in your work, you have a firmly grounded positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS values of being a place for change. Furthermore, you have a strong ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with others in the team. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You find it easy to collaborate with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive way. You should also have: Degree from a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with focus on social/pedagogical treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent Category B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing At SiS, we value good teamwork.
