The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an authority responsible for individually tailored compulsory care for young people with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS Youth Home Ljungaskog receives non-compulsory school-aged girls with psychosocial issues, substance abuse, and self-harm problems. The institution has a mandate to provide care for girls with special care needs. Job Description Do you want to be part of creating vital change for vulnerable people? Then the job as a treatment educator at SiS is a meaningful challenge. As a treatment educator, you work in a team together with treatment assistants and treatment coordinators, and together you are responsible for ensuring that the young people and clients living with us receive the safety, care, and treatment they need. We often meet people in crisis, which means you work with qualified care and motivation work and provide support in everyday life. With the support of your knowledge in care and treatment work, you actively contribute to carrying out treatment plans. Documentation is an important part of your work and contributes to legal security, planning, and monitoring of our activities. You help ensure that safety is maintained according to our procedures and you participate in ensuring that daily life runs smoothly with schooling, cleaning, cooking, and more. Contact person responsibilities are also among your work tasks. The work may also include being a mentor to new employees and interns. This is a job for you who sees a positive challenge in working with vulnerable people in a difficult life situation. The job is often demanding but also stimulating, joyful, and varied. As a new employee, you will complete SiS's basic training program lasting 10 weeks. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment provider role in SiS operations. You will work in the Ljunghaga unit, which is an open ward. Qualifications for Treatment Educator To succeed in your work, you have a solid positive view of humanity. You are motivated to help people in vulnerable life situations and you share SiS's values of being a place for change. You also have a good ability to create engagement and participation among our young people. As a person, you are confident in yourself and find it easy to build relationships with young people as well as with other staff members. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in stressful situations. You work well with others and can handle conflicts in a constructive manner. You must also have: A degree from a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) with a focus on social/educational treatment work or education from a university that we assess as equivalent Class B driver's license Good Swedish in speech and writing At SiS, we value good collegial relationships.
