The Swedish Prison and Probation Service (Statens institutionsstyrelse, SiS) is an agency responsible for individually tailored involuntary care for youth with complex psychosocial issues and for adults with substance abuse problems. SiS also carries out closed youth care. We do this at youth facilities and homes for adults with substance abuse issues throughout the country. SiS Youth Facility Råby accepts both girls and boys. We have both closed and open placements for closed youth care as well as treatment placements for youth under the LVU (Care of Young Persons Act). Job Description Do you want to be part of SiS's expansion and create vital change for vulnerable people? Then the position of Treatment Assistant at SiS is a meaningful challenge. The goal of your assignment is to motivate our youth/clients toward new and less risky ways of living. As a Treatment Assistant, you are employed to provide care and treatment. You contribute to ensuring that the unit's routines function as they should. You play a significant role in the stability and security for our youth/clients, and are responsible for the basics of daily life such as schooling, cleaning, meal preparation, and more. You help maintain order and safety at the facility according to our routines. Documentation is an important part of your work. You will work on building secure relationships and help ensure our youth/clients receive the security and safety they need to break established patterns of behavior. Together with your team of committed colleagues such as treatment educators and treatment coordinators, you have the opportunity to achieve good results and contribute to change. Work hours are scheduled day and evening shifts with alternating weekends. As a new employee, you will complete a 10-week SiS basic training program. The training combines theory with guided introduction and equips you for the treatment role in SiS operations. Qualifications Your personal suitability is key to vital change. Therefore, you need to have a strong ability to create engagement and participation. Equally important is that you have a solid positive view of people, strong empathetic ability, and the ability to build good relationships. You have good communication skills and can remain calm even in pressured situations. You also have the ability to collaborate with others and enjoy sharing your knowledge with colleagues. You must also have: At least a 2-year post-secondary education from a folk high school or vocational college (KY/YH) or equivalent education. The education should be focused on social work, social pedagogy, behavioral science, or another relevant subject area.* B-category driver's license Good Swedish, both spoken and written Experience from client-facing positions within, for example, the Prison Service, the Migration Agency, or LSS (support for people with disabilities) Experience working with our target group (e.g., substance abuse care, youth care, young girls, etc.) At SiS, we value good collegiality.
