The program serves young people aged 10–18 years who need support in their psychosocial and academic development, as well as their guardians. The program model is built on three components—individual treatment, family treatment, and resource school. We are now seeking a youth counselor for our program. Magelungen Full-Day is an environment organized around interdisciplinary teams consisting of family therapists, youth counselors, and mentors. The family therapist co-creates change and development processes that enable support for the young person's social and emotional development. Magelungen Full-Day in Örebro is grounded in a systemic approach with a mentalizing perspective and has developed its experience over the years with theories and methods relevant to our target group. About the Position As a youth counselor, you will have varied work. Through the daily program environment, ongoing conversations with the young person and their guardians, and various staff forums, change and development are co-created based on established treatment and educational goals. The youth counselor works closely with children and adolescents during their daily time at Magelungen and helps make the young person's perspective, strengths, and resources visible, reinforced, and utilized in treatment work. The youth counselor is responsible for supporting the young person's development process and change work in collaboration with the team and family. The work requires openness and strong collaboration skills, stress tolerance, flexibility, and a creative approach. You will participate in quality assurance and professional development and, together with your colleagues, advance the program's development efforts. Qualifications We want you to share our values regarding a systemic and salutogenic approach where respectful treatment, strengthening of resources and competencies in those we meet are the main focus. Given the young people and families we serve, this also requires that you as a person have good self-awareness and an open, exploratory, and curious approach. Treatment interventions take place in collaboration with many different actors, which is why you should also have strong collaboration skills. You communicate clearly both verbally and in writing, and you are skilled at building relationships with different people—both with young people and their families, colleagues, and external partners. You take responsibility seriously and honor your mandate, and you enjoy finding new solutions together with others through dialogue. You have an academic degree (social worker/behavioral scientist) with prior experience in psychosocial treatment work. Advantageous qualifications include basic therapist training (level 1), experience with change-focused work, and experience with mentalizing and systemic approaches. Good knowledge of NPF, trauma, and mental health. A valid driver's license (category B) is required for this position. Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.
