Boat Officer to Oskarshamn, Temporary Position

Sweden's most beautiful workplace is seeking a Boat Officer (temporary position) stationed in Oskarshamn Working as a Boat Officer As a Boat Officer, you are responsible for conducting sea transport and, when applicable, land transport and transport on/over ice. The work includes operation and maintenance of the Swedish Maritime Administration's property and equipment. The position involves participating in sea rescue operations, for which we provide specialized training. Operations run 24/7, 365 days a year, which means day, evening, and night shifts may occur. The pilot boat is staffed by two Boat Officers, one serving as master and one as mate/deckhand. To serve as mate, you must hold at least Class VII Master certification and complete internal training. To serve as master, you must hold at least Class VI Master certification and complete internal training. Sweden is divided into nine pilot transport regions along our long coastline. We are now seeking two boat officers for the Southeast Pilot Transport Region with a station in Oskarshamn. In addition to Oskarshamn, Kalmar and Visby are included in the pilot transport region. Who are you? You must meet the following requirements: - Minimum Class VII Master certification (not limited to inland navigation) - Minimum Class VIII Engineer certification - Basic Safety certificate - Minimum ROC certificate - Medical certificate for seafarers (unlimited deck service) - Class B driver's license (manual transmission) - Strong skills in reading and speaking Swedish and English - Strong skills in working with maintenance systems - Good ability to perform technical service and maintenance It is advantageous if you have strong skills operating smaller vessels (approximately 10–40 meters in length) and Class VI Master certification.
