At our neonatal unit, you work with the care of newborns in a unique and stimulating work environment. The neonatal area at Skånes universitetssjukhus (Sus) consists of two units; a neonatal unit in Malmö and one in Lund. In Malmö, we care for children born from gestational week 28 and onwards. These may be sick newborns or premature babies with varying care needs, from light care to intensive care. The unit has 18 care beds where we provide everything from intermediate care with CPAP treatment to general observation and care with a focus on growth and breastfeeding. We also have elements of intensive care. Length of stay on the unit varies from a couple of hours up to weeks and sometimes months. We practice family-centered care with the goal of providing good care to all families and, as much as possible, avoid separation of child and parent. - The best thing about working in neonatal is the mix of tasks. WORK TASKS With us, nurses and pediatric nurses work together with patient-centered care and the family at the center. For the child's wellbeing, we have an interdisciplinary collaboration with physicians, child care assistants, social workers, medical secretaries, physiotherapists, psychologists, and dietitians. In your role, you alternate between intermediate care and family care. This way you get varied, stimulating, and educational work. Neonatal care at Sus is the first in the country to educate all staff in FINE I-II, which provides in-depth knowledge and learning about the child's behavior and wellbeing and provides tools to support the child's parents in the best way. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare. It is highly meritorious if you are specially trained as a pediatric nurse. Alternatively, you are a licensed midwife with authorization to work in Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is also a requirement. For us, it is valuable if you have previous work experience in neonatal care.
