The neonatal unit cares for premature infants from week 28 of pregnancy and newborn infants with medical conditions up to approximately 6 months of age. Length of care varies from a few hours to several months. The neonatal unit is part of pediatric and youth medicine, which also includes outpatient clinics and departments for children and youth up to 18 years of age, with associated day care and play therapy. DUTIES As a nurse in neonatal care, you shape, together with parents and colleagues, the care based on each child's specific condition and needs. This provides challenging work with breadth and variety as well as good opportunities to develop within the profession. The work is performed in a team with nursing assistants/child care workers and physicians. We offer you orientation adapted to your previous experience. Rotational shifts: day, evening, and night with work on weekdays, weekends, and holidays. Newly hired nurses work day and evening shifts on weekdays, weekends, and holidays but are initially exempt from night work. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with an interest in pediatric care. Experience from neonatal care is not a requirement. You will receive orientation together with an experienced nurse/pediatric nurse. It is meritorious if you have specialist nurse education in health and care for children and youth or previous experience in neonatal care. You take initiative and work independently when required, but are also flexible and good at collaboration. We place great emphasis on personal suitability. Employment type: Permanent position.
