Center for Obstetrics and Gynecology (CFOG) Västerbotten is a regional organization with approximately 250 employees, with units at the region's three hospitals included and working collaboratively. CFOG operates with a cross-regional process-oriented approach, and the hospitals in the region share responsibility for ensuring that people in Västerbotten have access to specialist maternity care, delivery, postpartum ward, postpartum outpatient clinic, postpartum home care, gynecological outpatient clinic, gynecological surgery, tumor surgery, and robotic surgery. With science as our foundation, we work together within CFOG for efficient workflows and are responsible for ensuring that operations are conducted with the highest quality and in accordance with the defined operational plan.
CFOG in Skellefteå has approximately 90 employees working within the operational area. Our focus is to offer comprehensive and high-quality women's healthcare, including gynecological outpatient clinic, delivery, and postpartum outpatient services. Here we have broad expertise in, and provide specialized care for, pelvic floor, vulva, urotherapy, as well as endometriosis. In Skellefteå, we provide maternal health services, specialist maternity care, inpatient postpartum and gynecological care, and a breastfeeding clinic for residents of Skellefteå and Norsjö municipalities, as well as infertility services for the entire region.
We now need to strengthen the team at CFOG in Skellefteå further with an additional staff member for placement in delivery/postpartum and gynecological inpatient care.

JOB DUTIES
As a midwife or nurse with us, you contribute with knowledge and commitment that make people feel secure.
The workplace is a combined unit with delivery services and a shared inpatient ward for postpartum and gynecological care. As a midwife with us, you rotate and work with all areas. As a nurse, you also rotate, but work primarily with the inpatient ward for postpartum and gynecological care.
On the ward, we work in teams around the patients. The team consists of nursing assistants, nurses, midwives, and physicians.
In your role, you work professionally and put the patient in focus. You address patients' medical and specific care needs and plan and prioritize the interventions implemented. You collaborate with other care personnel to create a good work environment and provide high-quality care. The work requires independence, problem-solving ability, and the ability to make ongoing decisions.
As needed, you as a midwife/nurse lead and motivate other care personnel to create a good work environment and provide high-quality care.
Within inpatient care at CFOG Skellefteå, midwives work three shifts—day, evening, and night—while nurses work two shifts—day and evening. In both professional roles, work includes weekend duty 2 of 5 weekends. We operate according to a flexible scheduling model with preference schedules, which gives you as an employee the opportunity to influence your working hours. During the summer, June–August, weekend duty is scheduled every other weekend.
QUALIFICATIONS
We are seeking a licensed midwife or a registered nurse with basic education. It is an advantage if you have experience from delivery, postpartum, gynecological, and/or surgical care.
You have good judgment, pronounced ability to collaborate, and the ability to be flexible in your professional role.
You also have a good ability to lead and motivate others. You value the patient's experience and needs and strive for professionalism. You have a good ability to work independently, see possibilities and solutions, and make decisions.
Employment type: Fixed-term employment.
Duration: 6 months or longer, start date: 2026-09-01, end date: 2027-08-31.
Working hours: Shift schedule.
