Welcome to the Youth Clinic in Helsingborg! Within Youth Clinic (UM) Skåne, there are ten physical youth clinics and UM Skåne Online where we meet young people via video calls. UM Skåne is organized into five areas, each with a unit manager under a shared operations manager. Our unit consists of the clinics in Helsingborg and Ängelholm. We are a workplace with engaged employees from various professions such as midwives, nurses, nursing assistants, social workers, and physicians. The Youth Clinics in Region Skåne shall, in a competent, equitable, and proven manner, help and support young people into adulthood on behalf of the young person themselves, regardless of who seeks services or where in Skåne the person lives. We work with young people aged 12 to 24 years. Our mission is to work preventatively and promote health within sexual health, unwanted pregnancies, sexually transmitted infections, and physical and mental health issues. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES We now have the opportunity to offer a permanent employment to our clinic in Helsingborg and are seeking an engaged midwife who wants to make a difference in young people's lives. As a midwife, you work with contraceptive counseling, gynecological examinations, STI diagnostics, treatment and contact tracing, pregnancy testing, and sexological issues. Part of our engaging work is outreach where we meet school classes and other groups of young people to inform them about our services. The role involves a great deal of individual and independent work, but we also value good collaboration with the clinic's other professional groups. Our work requires great commitment and respect for young people's life circumstances. We work from a salutogenic perspective with a norm-critical approach. Your specific expertise is of great importance for the team to be able to offer our visitors good interdisciplinary care. QUALIFICATIONS We welcome you as a licensed midwife with prescribing rights and authorization to practice within Swedish healthcare. Swedish language skills at a minimum level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale is a requirement. We would like to see that you have previous experience working at a youth clinic or other activity involving preventive work with young people. If you have sexological and/or andrological expertise, we consider that as an asset for the position. Additionally, you are curious about or have experience working with questions related to identity, relationships, LGBTQ+, and sexology.
