In our neonatal department, you work with care and nursing of the newborn in a unique and stimulating work environment. The neonatal area at Skåne University Hospital (Sus) consists of two departments; a neonatal department in Malmö and one in Lund. In Malmö, we care for infants born from gestational week 28 onwards. These can be newborns with illness or prematurely born infants with varying care needs, from light care to intensive care. The department has 18 care beds where we provide everything from intermediate care with CPAP treatment to general observation and nursing with a focus on growth and breastfeeding. We also have elements of intensive care. The length of stay in the department varies from a couple of hours to weeks and sometimes months. We practice family-centered care with the goal of providing good care to all families and as far as possible avoid separation of child and parent. - The best thing about working in neonatal is the mix of tasks. WORK TASKS In our team, nurses and pediatric nurses work together with patient-centered care and family at the center. For the child's best interest, we have an interdisciplinary collaboration with doctors, childcare assistant, social worker, medical secretary, physiotherapist, psychologist, and dietitian. In your role, you alternate between intermediate care and family care. This way, you get varied, stimulating, and educational work. Neonatal care at Sus is the first in the country to train all staff in FINE I-II, which provides in-depth knowledge and learning about the child's behavior and well-being and provides tools to support the child's parents in the best way. QUALIFICATIONS We are looking for you who are a licensed nurse with authorization to practice in Swedish health care; it is highly meritorious if you are specialist trained as a pediatric nurse. Alternatively, you are a licensed midwife with authorization to practice in Swedish health care. Swedish language skills corresponding to at least level C1 according to the Council of Europe scale are also a requirement. For us, it is valuable if you have previous work experience in neonatal care.
